Eight Skilled Gentlemen

Orobouras Requiem

Elsewhere

In the private offices of the Red Dragon Inn
Toro has returned from the ruins with great wealth, and how has your plot gone?
Very well so far, and with this money to bribe the Red Rider my plan shall be complete.

In the main room of the Bloody River Drinking House:
Ahh... Rhou Thal I have a proposition for you.

On a hill over looking Castle Song
So old snake, my master's plan has caught you in its snare, this time you will not escape.

In the depths of the tomb beneath Castle Song:
The last Ghost is here, begin the ceremony.

In the lost temple
Soon we ride my servants, and the lands of the Song will drown in blood and ashes. Every living thing will be crushed beneath my feet and Song Kami will die screaming on the alter of the gods of vengeance

Prelude

The old man gleefully regards the shimmering wall of darkness before him as a shadow sweeps quickly across his face, he turns just in time to see the a grey haired lady dressed in slate grey armor strieghten up as if she had just landed from the air. The old man unsuccessfully attemps to hide his smirk as he bows "Greeting to you Lady of Thunder".

The armored woman regards the old man "What has happened here little uncle?"

"The trap my master set all those years ago has finally been sprung, and the Sepent Of Shan is finnally trapped".

The lady gives the old man a look of pity "Even this will not hold him forever"

The old man clenches his fist in front of him and shakes with glee "Heh, heh, heh, but thier are heros in this land, and they will be more then happy to bait the snake in his own lair, while I stand guard out side to keep him within".

The lady watches with amusment as the old man begins to caper and laugh in glee.

Toru: "ah Shing; the sun just diappeared and the guardsmen are getting back up.
Shing "oh?" "Well ain't that some shit."

Player Perspective

The company of Long was camped for the night in a rustic setting, enjoying whatever brief respite they might find from their many labors. The fire had burned low and all in the camp save Fong Fa Hong lay sleeping. Fong sensed the arrival of the Nature Spirit and awoke the others, save Hansu. For some reason, Hansu's slumber seemed unnaturally deep and he could not be roused.

The Spirit announced that it had come for the baby and, nestling Hansu in its gigantic arms, set off to return to its master. After a bit of a struggle, the group determined it would be better to follow the spirit back to its Master, so they allowed the abduction. Hansu continued dreaming of large women while the others trudged on their way, following the spirit as best they could.

At the very borders of Song Province the spirit stopped and set Hansu down. As soon as he left the sheltering arms of the spirit, Hansu awoke. The entire group turned as one to see what might have so distracted the spirit. There, in the distance was an inky black column stretching to the heavens. The column was not smoke, nor night, nor any phenomenon known even to the Other Monk*. The group decided to investigate.

Their journey to the blackness took longer than it might have, for The Other Monk* insisted on meditating before they could continue. His meditations told him that the column was at Song Castle (which all suspected), that it was evil (which all knew) and that they should go there (which they would have been doing, save that The Other Monk* had been meditating).

Arriving at the blackness they found it guarded by the Jun, but they were given admittance. They met with both the Imperial Minister and The Lady of Thunder. They explained that Acu was trapped inside the darkness, which was a path to the Tain and that if the group could kill him before he figured out how to return, he would be trapped there. They also warned the party of many dangers that awaited them. Heedless of the danger and eager to kill Acu, they entered.

The land of the Tain was dark and bleak with no light save that from the shrine of birds. A torch was lit and creatures immediately came to investigate and started screaming. The group left their torch and headed for the tunnels beneath the castle. As they rounded the corner they saw a large cloaked figure envelope and extinguish their torch.

In the catacombs below Castle Song, they encountered several snake men and many of the remaining servants of Song. The Snake Men were killed and the servants left in the catacombs for safety. They also encountered four of the twelve ghosts. Two they avoided entirely, one began telling Fong Fa Hong his story, and the fourth they tricked by claiming Hansu was his relief.
