Appearance:  
The Rings appear to be crystal rings each in the color of their respective element. Air is clear crystal, Water is sapphire, Earth is Emerald and Fire is Ruby. They seem flow with their element, so the Ring of the Fire looks like there is fire flowing through and around the band.
History:  

While the Elementals are powerful beings on the Prime Material plane, they are not at their full power and as such are weaker then when they are on their home planes. When it had become clear that the world of Man was going to directly effect the elemental worlds, they Elemental Kings meet for a conclave and concluded they needed champions on the Prime Material plane that would help protect them and their very few but important needs. And so they constructed the Rings of the Elementals, while not as powerful as their "father" ring, the Ring of Elements, they were powerful items in their own ways.

Knowing that once they release these rings into the world of Man there was no real way to control them or who had them, so they put a trigger on the full power of the Rings. Only the Elemental Kings could grant a bond between the bearer of the ring and the ring itself, then and only then would the full power of the ring be revealed. Until the bond was created agents of the Elemental Royal Courts had the ability to take the rings away from the current bearer and set them loose once again in the world somewhere.

Speak with all Element, Protection from Element, Control up to 18HD Elemental, AC +2, +2 Save vs. Elements, +2 Spell Penetration to all spells cast via the ring, Become 18HD Elemental 3/day, All spells via ring considered 22nd (SR checks are d20+22+SP), Personal Saving Throw DC and SR mods are applied to spells cast via the Rings.
