Vengance for Deasious

Prelude

In Echer:

"They are coming, quickly prepare to defend the temples. No priest of Gramlock is going to take away what we have claimed in the name of Deasious."

"Sir, word is that they are heading for the main temple outside the city!"

"Quickly send word"

Somewhere Else:

"Well well, don't you look like death warmed over?!"

"I've had better days, I'll admit it. What took you so long?"

"I had business with some old friends I had to take care of. As a matter of fact I must get back there." the man slips off a ring and hands it to Nadimus. "If you're well enough to travel, you can take me back and then come back here to recover."

"What are you doing there?! You know what you are supposed to be doing, why are you getting involved?" Nadimus's tone has a bit of annoyance in it, as he slips on the ring. "You know there's nothing you can really do?" Nadimus's tone switches from annoyance to a bit of sadness.

The man just looks at him with even more sadness and even anger in his eys. "That may be so, but I will do what ever I can while I can. Are you taking me back or do I have to find my own way?" the man says as he grabs his bow from the table.

"I'm taking you back, relax my elven friend."

In Votu:

"You can't be serious about this Baroness?" Reggas of Paruv says as he looks over the scrolls in front of him.

"Of course we are. We realize that no one can really win this war. So these are our terms of peace, accept them or I can assure you things will get bloodier then they are now, my good ambassador." The Baroness laughs  a bit as she says this. "I mean, you have noticed that the longer this fight lasts the strong we are becoming. It is true, in a long drawn out battle we would be victorious but the price would be great. We do not want to win at that cost, so we will settle for peace."

"The council will consider your offer Baroness." Reggas gets up and leaves.

"Well some consideration is all we ask."

Adventure Summary

Angered by the presence of so many evil temples and flushed with the success of their first attack, the group marched through the streets to the largest temple, which was just outside the town. The priests there were as surprised as those at the first temple. The combat began with Morduke conjuring walls of earth on three sides to trap the priests within.

He followed up with an insect plague which nearly filled the temple with biting stinging insects. O headed off to the livery to deal with the servants there and the others amused themselves dispatching the handful of guards not found inside. The front of the temple was shielded by two huge walls of ice and a blade barrier courtesy of Shane Lee and Morduke. For the moment, Toglard was strangely quiet.

The fight progressed and more powerful priests arrived in the narrow margin of safety just inside the temple walls. They dispelled the walls only to have them rise up just as quickly. They kept trying, but in the end they were no match for the prowess of Morduke and his allies. When the battle ended, all of them lay dead and the party had taken but minor scratches.

Still angry, the group proceeded to a smaller temple in the city. This time they were ready, but it mattered little - the results were the same - all the priests were slain and the group looted the grounds and the dead for treasure.
