My Travels

Aredel: August
Much time has passed since last I kept track. Much is different, yet some the same as before. Our time in the Abyss taught us naught but that the very roots of evil were against us--against all who would oppose their ultimate rule's great bid for power.
A guess on my part led me to a chained and mindless Morduke--berefit of his God's wisdom, grace, or direction. Balos held him captive for the chance at locating the objects Morduke previously owned and then discarded--sent to the four winds as far as I can tell. We left Morduke's shell of a body in the gray lands-hopefully he will regain some semblance of his sanity in this timeless place.
Since that time, we have struggled to come to grips with the plague of ills that despoils the land. Bistal stands torn between leaders and Ulrich all but powerless to enact a stable government without himself being removed from the equation.
Balos seemingly forced a great conjunction which sundered the magic from this world in a moment--only the items which were forged in our reality's origin seemed to resist this spell. As fate would have it, now amongst the items I bare include the RuneStaff. Hopefully this item will assist me in my quest to level the balance before this world (and all others) are too far gone to save. -G-

Mid July
Our latest sojurn has taken us away from Aredel--on a wild goose chase, I fear. Through those with the elemental rings, we have discovered that the royalty of the elementals have been kidnapped and somehow we have been recruited to rescue them. This journey has let me from exiled tribe to exiled tribe in search of those who have the princes. We currently travel to the Abyss--one of the darkest realms possible, to fight for their return.
I fear this journey has cost us more that merely time. Toglard has grown sick of the confusion which surrounds us--almost as if the gods themselves were withholding support from our band--and at the least he has departed for the gray lands. At worst, he could tip the scales of the balance at his whim. I would that a terrible blow has been landed to these heroes of Aredel.

Early July
My fears were brought to reality just moments ago. The one with the dark shadow released an ancient servant of chaos, albiet unknowingly, into the world while in search of another item of power. The beings we seem to be encountering have strength beyond the mundane (powerful, yet mundane) skills we have. Our most recent journey--seeking the ring of time-- has proven to be difficult to say the least. It is a powerful thing and I cannot find a way to undo what it has already done, no matter how long I search my heart and spirit. This being may yet be the end of us. Only time will tell.

Aredel: July
I have not kept careful record of my travels the last few months. My journey has taken me from one world to the next, but it would seem that in addition to finding one of the two items I seek to stave off my world's demise I've also thrown myself in with a powerful, yet diverse group of adventurers from the Nexus Plane of Aredel. I don't think they truly understand the significance of the events to come, but some have begun to gather the directions from the urgings and promptings with themselves and from the world around them. While I feared for the longest time that success would be outside my meager abilities, this group may well be the one that can undue the damage done to the balance. Though most seem to serve the Lords of Light, they have begun to understand the ways of the higher realms. Hopefully this will bring forth the item I seek and the scales kept in their proper position. The servants of chaos and evil are strong--hopefully the Gods of this realm have chosen wisely in the pieces they put in play.
