Societies: Way of the Bear

Summary: This animal order can be traced to the Timor Plains. They look to the bear for guidance in their life and for lessons in behavior and tactics.
Estimated Membership: About 300 in Timor and 100 or so outside.

Type of Society: Informational/Social

Public Purpose:

The goal of the group is to enhance and improve the abilities of their members. Native Timorian members also work to preserve the wild in their Kingdom. While not opposed to hunting, they do oppose "harvesting" of both their selected species and most other animals.

Membership Requirements:

Belief that all creatures can teach us things.
Strenth 13+
Not a member of any other Way..

Membership:

Primarily warriors, rangers and berserkers.

Organization:

Students and Masters.

Within Timor students of the Bear are looked on well, outside they are seen as strange..

Bear Stance100Str 13+The character gets a +2 bonus against any attempts to overun or trip him.
Bear Sprint200The character can charge and make a full attack. This ability can be used once/day per point of natural strength bonus.
Bear Speech200The character can speak with Bears
Bear Strength400The character gains 1d4+1 points of Strength for 6 rounds. This ability can be used once/day per point of natural strength bonus.
Bear Strike400The character can strike open-handed for 1d8 points of damage.
Bear Hug800Bear StrikeIf the character hits with two open-hand attacks, he can squeeze his opponent for 2d6 points of damage.
Bear Friend800Bear SpeechThe character can use animal friendship on a bear.
Bear Shape1600The character can change from human to bear form 1/day per 5 levels. Changing back is free.
