Summary: The Brotherhood is a mercenary group dedicated to promoting the cause of mercenaries everywhere. Most mercenaries are unwitting though not unwilling members, but leaders of mercenary bands are almost always active.

Public Purpose:

The Brotherhood exists to promote chivalrous and fair warfare and to ensure that mercenaries are paid and respected properly.

Members must have served as armed mercenaries..

Membership:

Members are, not surprisingly, primarily warriors. The membership numbers are for the leaders of bands, nearly all of whom are dues-paid members and then for the members of bands, many of whom pay only lip service to the codes of the Brotherhood.

Organization:

The Brotherhood is organized much like a military unit, with separate divisions for ranged, infantry, cavalry, skirmish and, most recently, marine troops. Each group has a Colonel as its nominal leader..

Social Benefits:

Membership in the Brotherhood may save you a few tavern fights. On a battlefield, member will not needlessly kill one another and will allow their fellows to quit the field on condition that they not return..

Game Benefits:

Members gain access to training in some unique skills and feats related to operating a mercenary band. These include leadership, military, and financial skills.

Penalties:

Regular soldiers are often jealous of the Brotherhood or angered by them. Sometimes being in the Brotherhood will get you in a tavern fight..
