Societies: The Crescent

Summary: A relatively new order of mostly Arcane Archers. They take their name from the shape of the bow and from the symbol of their patron godess (probably some foresty-archery-moon chick). Their leader is Zamval, a skilled warrior and magician. They appear to be trying to preserve order and to uphold the rights of the people. They have not been seen nor heard from since the attacks. They are known to be sympathetic to the cause of Druids and Rangers

Public Purpose:

Members of the Crescent work to uphold the rights of the people and to ensure that the downtrodden are looked after. They are involved in both peaceful work, like helping to rebuild villages and farms, and in more dangerous work like defeating local bandits and/or humanoid gangs.

Members must be skilled with the bow and willing to serve Mercheval..

Membership:

Most members are rangers or fighter wizards. There is also a contingent of a half-dozen druids who some say are the true leaders of The Crescent.

Organization:

Little is known, but it is believe they are organized into cells based on geography. Many of the members are travelers, so they can be encountered most anywhere and both alone and in groups..

Social Benefits:

Members are usually extended every kindness in villages where there is an active cell. They are also well-loved in the temples of Mercheval..

Game Benefits:

Members gain access to a number of unique spells developed by Zamval, none of which are shared with non-members.

Penalties:

Having a reputation as a do-gooder can be troublesome. Evil types see you as a meddler, villagers think you're a savior. .
