A brief description of the characters and their motives (as described by the players):
- Maladar the Basher - Tom
- Maladar the Basher is a loyal follower of Gramlock the Mighty, god of Glory and War. Since most of the glory and war can be found in the Delves, so can priests of Gramlock.
Maladar is a proud and sometimes loud man. He got his name from the fact he uses two maces to bash the hell out of his enemies. Maladar is on the road to seek glory and fame in the Delves so he can earn bragging rights with his brothers of the cloth at their yearly Festival of Gramlock where the Elders take turns filling the Tome of Gramlock with their own monsters and treasures for the Delvers to win if they beat the Delve.
- Brendan (Bren the Red) Locke - Mick
- Brendan is a human of average height and weight. Although he is well muscled he moves gracefully. He is called Bren for short and "the red" for his red hair and the fact that he wears a cape and breastplate of red. He is the son of a former locksmith who died without anyone ever recognizing his greatness as a master locksmith for the delves. Bren became a Delver to make a name for himself, he did not wish to die an unknown like his father or become a wealthy land owner like his brother who inherited his fathers money. Bren has a reputation as being a bit brash but he has only been in a couple very minor delves and is still learning his trade. He hopes one day to become a hero to the people and will not hesitate to help someone out either physically or with money. He cares little about his profits from the delves often spending it freely or giving away all but what he needs for his expenses.
- Wo Sheng - Tom
- A human from the eastern countries, Wo Sheng stands at an average height, his body well defined and agile. Wo Sheng has traveled west in order to re-establish his family's name and honour.
After his father death, his brother Kim Sheng took over as head of the family. He quickly disgraced his family by losing money on the Delves. In a despirate attempt to re-claim the family wealth Kim Sheng shamelessly embarresed himself and his house by losing everything to Li Keng, one of the most prominate Delve keepers in the land. Li Keng's Delves were so advanced that even the most skill warriors lost their life in them, including Kim Sheng. Li Keng has offered Wo Sheng the chance to win everything back by completely his most advanced and deadly Delve. He has given Wo Sheng one year to prepare and gather a team for it. So now Wo Sheng is here, training and hoping to find companions that will aid him in his quest.
- Drago - Tim
- Drago is a human who is tall and strong. He caries a Great Sword and wears Scale Mail. Drago use to be a town guard but that really didn't suit him. After a disagreement with the captain of the guard Drago quit his post and began to wander. He since has managed to spend/lost or pissed away all of his savings. The only thing he owns is his armor and his sword. Now he is pursing being a Delver for Fame, Fortune, and Women not necessarily in that order. Besides it just sounds like fun.
- Rosko Durhast - Joe
- A dark burly dwarf covered in pockets, tools and weapons.
A member of a dwarf clan famed for building Dungeons, Rosko has become a Delver in order to win a lot of prize money, steal ideals from other people's Dungeons, and see how well traps really work against Delvers.
