Delve World

Basics

Prelude

Anything good today, Kradel?
Not really, just a group of rookies testing, if they pass, maybe tomorrow.
Heard anything about 'em?
Nope, just that they're all real eager to try their luck.
Well, let me know if you hear anything.

Kradel watched as the halfling departed. He hated the little bastard and wouldn't have told him anything if he had known. Of course, Caleb had no idea of his hatred, all those halflings were the same, convinced that everyone loved them.

Caleb smiled. The Delve Master didn't much like him and he knew it. He enjoyed angering the old man almost as much as finding fresh talent. He whistled idly to himself as he made his way to the Delver's Den, hoping to spot this new team.

Play by Play

The players picked up some potentially valuable information from an old sot named Horace then made their way to the Delve. Once there, they paid five gold each for the privelege of exploring the Delve, plus another five to ensure there would be no resets prior to their exit.

Horace proved correct as the first room proved very dangerous, with two ghouls reaching out from under the stairs to trap the unwary. Tim escaped their clutches, but Joe wasn't as lucky. He grabbed one by the arm, not knowing there was a second. While the two ghouls concentrated on the dwarf, the rest of the group was stuck behind him on the stairs.

Tim charged the ghouls and landed one good blow before he joined the paralyzed dwarf. Not interested in the niceties of friendship, Mick pushed Joe down the stairs and entered the fray. Following a tough fight, Joe, Tom, and Tim were all paralyzed.

When they recovered the group opened a door into another room. Eight skeletons charged and all but two were turned through the power of the dwarf's faith. The two who pressed their charge were quickly dispatched with two crushing blows from Tim's sword. The group caught their breath and then charged the skeletons simultaneously. The undead fell quickly to the brutal onslaught.
