Listen Up, Chummers... The Run Is Still On!

SHADOWRUN UNIVERSE AND RPG CONTINUE ON!

CHICAGO, IL-- and Fantasy Productions of Germany announce that the
popular world of Shadowrun will continue to be published. The game will
go forward under the direction of Jordan Weisman, the co-creator of the
Shadowrun universe; supervised by Mike Mulvihill, the long-time
Shadowrun developer at FASA Corporation; and backed by Fantasy
Productions, the German publisher of Shadowrun. Fantasy Productions
has made valuable contributions to the world of Shadowrun for years,
and has now committed to publish new material in both German and
English.

Werner Fuchs, President of Fantasy Productions, expressed his pleasure
in being able to continue the Shadowrun line: "We originally translated
and distributed Shadowrun because of the quality and originality of the
product. Continuing to publish Shadowrun was a very natural
conclusion."

Jordan Weisman adds, "Many concerned eyes were on us, waiting to see
what would become of Shadowrun. Wešre excited that we were able to
continue the line so quickly."

The game's many players and fans will be pleased to learn that the
releases planned by FASA Corporation are still slated for publication,
with the first product, Year of the Comet, coming soon.

SFR Acquires Dragon Dice

SFR, Inc. has purchased the rights for the collectable dice game Dragon
Dice from Wizards of the Coast. This acquisition includes all intellectual
properties, remaining inventory, and artwork.

Production of Dragon Dice, which was voted "Adventure Game of the
Year" by Games Magazine in 1995, was put on hold when Wizards of the
Coast acquired the game in 1998.

"This is a win-win situation for Wizards of the Coast, SFR, and fans of
the Dragon Dice game", said Dave Papay, Vice President of SFR. "It
allows Wizards (of the Coast), to focus on their core product lines, and
gives SFR the opportunity to concentrate on the further development of
the (Dragon Dice) game."

SFR plans to resume development of the Dragon Dice game with an
initial release of three new, limited edition "Dragonkin Champion" dice in
the first quarter of 2001. This will be followed by a major game
expansion called "Treefolk" in the summer of 2001. Other products are
planned for subsequent release, including the long-awaited "Champions"
and "Unearthly" expansions.

About SFR, Inc.

SFR, Inc. is a small but growing game company that focuses on unique,
unusual, and innovative games not generally produced by larger,
mass-market companies. Founded in 1999 by a group of committed
gamers with extensive experience in business and the gaming industry,
the company is dedicated to both making games better and making
better games. The cornerstone of SFR's product line is Dragon Dice, a
highly successful game that premiered in 1995 and still enjoys a strong,
loyal following. Several original games are also under development, and
SFR is looking into other licenses for future new products. For more

Okay, so next week's alleged installment is Netrunner. The good news is that I have a box of unopened starters, so if you don't have any Netrunner, but would like to play, it's completely possible. You can even keep the starter (yes, that's right, I got a box of 6 starters for $2.00).

Ok, so maybe this whole blow the dust off thing wasn't such a great idea. At any rate, there being only one person who even mentioned magic (and he said no) I guess this week is off too.

If I can get anywhere with my cheesy access database today, I'm up for some INWO tonight...
I'll look for some input/updates later today.

On Monday, 29-Jan-01 00:07:49 EST, Steve said
Ok, so I guess it's time to call no-joy on INWO for tomorrow. Anyone else have a suggestion?

On Monday, 22-Jan-01 10:07:19 EST, Lou said
Since I have school on Monday's don't plan for me to make any of the games.

On Sunday, 21-Jan-01 20:53:41 EST, Steve D. said
Is anyone up for Rage tomorrow or should we make the call now to skip or change games?

On Tuesday, 16-Jan-01 17:18:13 EST, Tim said
I did want to play though. It just did not work out that way.

On Tuesday, 16-Jan-01 17:14:00 EST, Tim said
Sorry I could not make it. I got a new fridge and stove and the truck(my fathers) and my help(my brothers) were late showing up to help me get them so instead of doing it at 5:30 like we planned we did not get to do it untill 9:00 or 9:30.

On Monday, 15-Jan-01 20:56:51 EST, Steve D. said
As I sit here by myself, a new Dust Bedevilled rule occurs to me. From now on, I'm going to suggest that if you ARE playing that week's game, you say so by Sunday, the night before. If we don't get a reasonable number of players (at least three, depending on the game), then I say we cancel or change, probably cancel.
If there is one or more game currently on the list that you don't plan to show up for, it might be a good idea to say so - that way if there aren't going to be enough players, we can change games now, rather than play nothing.

On Monday, 15-Jan-01 15:10:52 EST, Lou said
I doesn't look like I'm going to be able to play tonight. Sorry.

On Monday, 15-Jan-01 14:57:23 EST, Steve D. said
Okay, so based on last night's discussion, it looks like Dragon Dice Risk is the winner. Rules are online as best as I remember them. If you're looking to borrow dice, I *might* be able to loan you a few dozen.

On Wednesday, 10-Jan-01 17:02:04 EST, Tim said
I say we play Dragon Dice Risk tonight. Any takers?

On Tuesday, 09-Jan-01 08:43:11 EST, Steve said
Now the important question: Who's up for Dragon Dice and do we want to play straight or DD Risk? How many points if we play the straight version?

On Tuesday, 09-Jan-01 08:36:51 EST, Steve said
Played Diskwars last night. The scenario was called "Rescue the Princess" or something like that. Tim played Knights who had to get to the princess before my Orcs. Dave played the Mahkim and just wanted all of us the hell out of his swamp so he could kill the girl and get it over with.
The game was mostly decided on the first round when I used Twister1 to send most of the powerful units on my side of the board over to Tim's side of the board, leaving me with mostly weaker units to contend with.
Tim's army of wardogs didn't do very well against the Mahkim and Dave used several Fireballs and Powerballs to good effect against my poor orcs, but in the end the Familiar-Zip combo proved very powerful and I was able to grab the girl and make a run for it, using a half-orc and a bit more cheese to end the game.
  1. Twister is one of those things where everyone else's drop is cheesy, my drop was no exception.
