What the players know:

The campaign is starting in and around a Barony called Ansalea. The baron is still bereft of children. The capital city, where the first adventure will start, is on the western end of the barony.

West of the town is Moon Lake, so named because it is rumored to be as large as the moon, and for the beauty of it's sunset. The lake is huge (think great lakes) and is dotted with islands near the shore. To the east lies the rest of the barony and most of the rest of the kingdom. To the south lies whatever else of the kingdom there is. To the north are hills, then mountains.

The baron is on good terms with the dwarfs in those mountains, who have their own kingdom and do not follow human laws, except when it suits them. Elves, halflings, and gnomes live in the barony and the surrounding hills as well. Beyond the hills are the mountains and the towns greatest enemies.

There are barbarian tribesmen back there, along with orks and other fell creatures. There are also occassional incursions from the lake; usually raiders (there are no pirates, there is nothing really outside the barony to trade with and if you stole/pirated from the baron, you'd have to deal with the savages, since the lake doesn't have any other human neighbors to speak of.
