Recent History
Within the walls of Isone, the royal city of the kingdom of Falidan, nothing is known but absolute paradise. Only the Royal family, and the families of Nobles live within the inner walls of Isone, while the farms that sustain Isone and the peasants that work them live hand to mouth in low to low-middle income villages.
Falidan is divided into nine Baronies. Eight being independently run by their respective Baron, and the ninth being ruled by the second child of the King. The oldest sons of the Baron's and the High Prince all attend school in Isone as they prepare for their 16th birthdays when they assume the power and titles of their Fathers. When not in Isone the Noble children are at home in their own Baron's capitol, never seeing the outside of their protected lands.
Falidan is the wealthiest and the most civilized kingdom of Man. Resting on the shore of the Northern Ocean and protected on the remaining three sides by the Crown of Thyadius, a horseshoe shaped range of mountains. In the mountains are various tribes of Orcs, Gnolls, Goblins, and even some Ogres. The Throne of Isone is unconcerned by the threat of savages putting all their faith in the Falidan Armies.
Outside the protective vale of the Crown, the rest of Man lives in chaos and fear. Kingdoms are poor and broken, many so splintered there is no loyalty left They are often attacked and raided by Orcs, Goblins, Gnolls, Ogres, Trolls, and other creatures of the strange wilds of the lands.
Life outside the Crown is unspoken of, and generally never given a second thought. The rest of the kingdoms hold a high hatred of Falidan and would love to see nothing better but for it to fall from its grace.
