Adventure Summary

The group broke into the basement and for a moment it looked like there was a standoff. There were three men there and each of them had his gun pointed at an orphan. One of the men ordered them to surrender. Ramon hesitated, fearful for the lives of innocent children, but the others leapt down the stairs guns blazing. The kidnappers, completely surprised by this action, were dead in a matter of seconds without even really putting up a fight. The orphans were freed and it turned out one was missing.

Ramon tracked the man who had taken the girl while the others followed in the wagon. When the wagon recharged its boosters, it quickly made up time. They caught up with the man in short order and killed him, again without any injury to the hostage. Searching him, they found a map which showed a back road to Odin. They returned the girl to the orphanage, spent the night there and headed for Odin in the morning.

Odin proved to be a very dangerous place. Apparently, MacPherson and his men were just waiting for the posse to arrive. The posse, hoping to be less obvious, staggered their arrivals. Almost as soon as the first pair entered the town, snipers opened fire on them. Taking shelter in a saloon, they learned that MacPherson ran the town and was holed up in his home at the end of the street. As the rest of the group rode in on the professor's wagon, the shooting started up again. The posse made pretty short work of MacPherson's guns, only to find themselve under attack by some lunatic standing on MacPherson's balcony.

He had clearly consorted with dark powers and he called upon satanic rituals to smite his worthy foes. Luckily, Ken wasn't having any of it and was able to shoot him through the head and kill him.

The group entered and inspected the house. They found a butler who insisted that the dead man was, in fact, MacPherson. Further inspectioin revealed that the house had been emptied of cash and easily transportable wealth and that the culprit had headed northwest towards MacPherson's Mountain.

Deciding the trail was too old and too long, the posse resolved to return the corpse to Dry Gulch and then receive further instructions from Emerson.

Tim: All this technology and all we got is this Lou P.O.S.

Dave (pointing to the corpses): Does she look like this?

Joe: No, you can't have any more food. Damn orphans!

Saloon Keeper: I thought you said you were takin' him to be arrested?
Skeeter: He resisted. He was tauntin' me.

Noteworthy

MacPherson died awfully easy.

MacPherson had enough money and men to buy a small town and hold it hostage.
