Winter's Harvest

In the Beginning

Prelude

Character creation!

Player's Perspective

After creating characters, the players were marshalled and marched North to the high pass to investigate the events north of the pass. There were many men in the Phalanx, but it would be unfair to the word army to call them one. They were scoundrels, theives, slaves, fops and worse... and they were all the empire had.

Had became the operative word almost as soon as the army entered the pass. Once they had crossed more than halfway, they were engulfed in a swirling snowstorm that left them half-blind and freezing in the cold. A moment later, dragons appeared, first one, then several. They tore into the troops like a hungry beggar with a loaf of fresh-baked bread.

Even as the men reeled under the aerial attack yeti burst from the ground and joined the dragons. The snow was stained with blood and soon the battlefield looked more like a cherry slurpee than a frozen pass. The general rallied some of his troops and got them to safety. Others made their way to a hidden passage and then to an ancient temple.

In the temple they slew a giant slug of some sort, then began to investigate in earnest even as the fury of the storms, dragons and yeti reached the fervor pitch of a phaser on overload in the pass they'd left behind.
