Prelude
Within the Barrow of the Draug:- "I heard it too, now get back before your're spotted."
Elsewhere within the Barrow of the Draug:- "Yes my pet, I heard the ice break. As soon as I hear the signal we attack."
Elsewhere within the Barrow of the Draug:- "He's here, that fop is here. That fool has fallen into my trap."
Miles to the north.- "Really? This is for me, Neat."
- "I will hear your master's offer."
Player's Perspective
Recognizing that the situation precluded their chance of suprrise, the players tried to use bizarre tactics instead. In the end, it mattered but little. When Flakey had returned to the Barrow and set his ambush, he had thought he would face perhaps a dozen men. In the past, the company had always left behind at least as many of their followers as they brought.
This time though, they brought their whole company save a few and were further augmented by the Kordan. Despite superior tactics and position, Flakey and his men were once more defeated. Unfortunately, in the heat of battle Flakey was again able to escape.
They headed South, where many of the yeti were killed as the Imperials took the pass by force. From there they went back to the Cinnibar mines to free the Kordan women.
It was not easy and even our own group was split. At last we invaded and were to set free the women when a strange thing came to pass - a dragon arrived to speak with the Duergar. It was odd, but they seemed to be negotiating something. We never heard the end for Delvin grew impatient and set off an explosion of cinnibar that was part of the mine's defense.
The Dragon, enraged at this apparent betrayal, began killing wantonly. In the ensuing chaos, we escaped, saving nearly all the Kordan.
