Prelude
In the Shrine of the Chin family
Arise! Arise now and do my bidding.
Otaru's Dreams
Moldering corpses arise, pained looks in their eyes.
Their spirits cry out for release but they are captive to the will of the Necromancer.
As the dream ends, Otaru is filled with Dread.
Summary
Otaru told the others of his prophetic dreams and they decided to investigate. They used the secret tunnel at the Songbird Teahouse to leave town unnoticed and made their way to the Chin Shrine without encountering the estate.
At the shrine they were met by two idiots, Shi and Mo who claimed they were guarding the mausoleum at the order of their mistress Lang Cheng. They carried only a shovel and a pick. After some confusing banter, Kai lost his patience and swatted the shovel from Shi's hand, then knocked him out.
The pair decided to abandon their guard post and seek help. The trio entered the mausoleum. It was clear that someone was breaking into the tombs. As they investigated, 4 skeletons came up from below and were put down.
Otaru could see a light from below and then a woman's voice called out pretending to be a Chin and ordering them out of the tomb. Kai Chen mocked her and she sent some hideous undead construct up the stairs to kill them. It was not successful, but while it was fighting them, she created a wall of bones between them and the lower level.
When they broke through the wall, she was gone. They found a secret door and followed her for a time through a series of passages. They found 4 more skeletons which they dispatched. They tracked her again and found that she had gone through a portcullis which was wizard locked.
There was a ladder nearby and they emerged into a hidden tower among some rocks. They exited and made their way back to the tomb. The idiots had returned and accused them of releasing the restless dead onto the Chin (now Joy) Estate.
After some discussion they all agreed to tell the Joys nothing. The idiots asked the group to help them get back to the village safely.
