When we returned, the dwarves threw a feast and gave us 50 gold each. They then offered some masterwork items; Peeter accepted an axe, Mordak a light mace, and Ferric some liquor. The feast included strong beer & ale which they enjoyed. Mordak stole a bar of metal from their host.
They walk about 9 hours and emerge to find many guards and the city watch patrolling the streets in force. They are to stop anyone from entering or exiting the city. All airships are grounded. One that approached the city was shot down.
They decide the need to rest and recover before worrying about the airship issue. There's a public bath and a medical place to help with health care and cleanliness. It's in the Foreigner's Quarter and caters to non-humans who might think they're important enough to be pampered. Mordak talks to the thieves. He sells them the ingot he stole which is adamantium. They want him to fly to New Dalish, do some scouting, and return. Ferric goes to a place where he's a regular and has a bath, shave, and meal. Peeter takes the stairs in Randall's warehouse to the outside of the city and meditates on the nature god holy symbol they found.
The Gruncle shows up at Ferric's place and tells him to meet him at the Silver Sword and bring his friends. He's going to buy breakfast, but there's more to it. Everyone but Peeter meets up and Mordak discusses his job. they then move to the Silver Sword for their meeting.
The doorman seems unsure about allowing them in. The Gruncle gives the sign and they are taken in quickly to the Gruncle's table. He has two jobs. One is to travel overland to New Dalish, find out what happened, salvage what they can and come back. The second one is to do something in town.
The one in town has some urgency but isn't critical. New Dalish is three days for a Wanak, even more for the rest of us. They think someone broke into Mushroom lab 7 and did something weird because it's overrun by spiders. There is some discussion of payment; he's offering 60 gold for the spiders, 100 for New Dalish. Mordak seems to think it should be more but no one else agrees. They decide to do the lab job first, partly because it's closer and partly because Ferric fears the trip to New Dalish.
They make their way to the lab. There are spider webs. They enter and are deafened by shriekers. They are attacked by a group of crab spiders who normally live in the trees and don't spin webs. They are the size of toddlers. Once killed they are dropped out the window for the guards to destroy.
They continue and find two more spiders who are much larger and do spin webs. They are also poisonous. They attack and both Speaks and Ferric are poisoned. The spiders don't last too long and Peeter treats their wounds and heals everyone with the secret knowledge of Dumathoin.
They find the mushroom area, then move back although there may have been a troll or ogre there. They fight a spider with diamond sharp pincers and eventually kill it but not before Mordak is knocked out. They revive him after the fight.
Three more approach. Mordak and Ferric create a pool of burning oil which injures two of them. they keep coming. Two on the ground and 1 on the wall. The wall spider is uninjured and charges speaks. One of them flees from the fire and the other comes forward. The pair of them are killed handily
They find and kill the spider that escaped but are then attacked by a group of a dozen skulls. Ferric uses grease to slow their charge, then the rest attack. They fight is joined, they get hit with holy water and they turn out not to be undead. they also aren't constructs, but they are objects and the skull explodes letting Mordak kill him.
They look for survivors and are attacked by two assassin spiders. The spiders are very tough and they manage to leave Peeter and Speaks are both knocked out before Ferric and Mordak manage to dispatch them. Luckily, they have enough healing potions to bring them both to consciousness. They decide to exit the lab.
When they come out, there are a number of smaller spiders swarming from the sewers. They are fast and nimble and only Ferric's magic is able to deal with them effectively without putting himself at risk.

Joe: I figured out why so many people speak Wanak.
Steve : Why?
Joe: There's a magic talking book called "Hooked on Wanaks".
Speaks: He doesn't have anything in his skull. He's a marotian.
Ferric: I was going to take your body out and Mordak was going to be Speak's wingman.
Joe: I was hoping to find out about the tooth. I'm bicuspid curious.The Spoils
