Prelude
You’ve cottoned in on a charlatan who is using Otherkind magic to convince people they have a witch, then shows up as a Witch hunter to save them, for a fee.
The Town of Hartview, Pennsylvania has recently began to experience some of the sign of his shennagans, can you catch up with him before another innocent woman burns?
Summary
Amos reach Lancaster first and quickly realized the town was under the effect of witch like presence centered just outside of town at the home of a brewer name Ben Stiller who produced Red Herring Ale, and is bad at woodcarving.
Amos then found out that the Wtichhunter front man, Higgins, was in town, in Amos’s commonhouse working as a pedler and thinker sharpening blades in the villiage green.
Ben and Zack arrived the next day, with Zack following his Crow’s fixation on the north to discover Stiller’s homestead and leaning of a spring his property that he got his water from. And also surprised the man enough that he fell into a hole he was digger and became laid up with a sprained ankle.
The group found an old well filled to the brim with water in the middle of stunted plant growth, aside from a significantly healthy looking witch hazel tree. They also found a reliquary holding the head of a legendary witch named Hepzibah Sterrett. Divied up into parts after her death.
When closing the reliquary to seal away the evilness from it, they discovered that Higgen’s felt the evil bing sealed up and fled.
Reaching Hartview they found a girl Hester Cowain, on trial before being burned at the stake.
Witchhunter Ligget had a otherkind knife he called a Athane that turned the blood on female black on contact, and has used a caustic agent to create a false witch’s nipple on the girl’s back to prove that she was a witch.
Ligget argued well enough that even after the girl accused him of offering to spare her in return for having his way with her the group still let him flee believing he may have been influenced by Higgens.
The Girl, Hestor, allowed his former beau, the son of the mayor escourt her back to her home, when she lured him to the spooky old stone there and slit his throat in a bargin to raise the angry spirits of the indian which had been slain and abandoned to the weather there.
The party cut down the walking corpses while Zeke pulled the body from ring of stone before it could raise the bodies in town.
At the town minion of a Fallen who had one of the witches finger had recovered the head and fought with the group who finished him and his little dog too.
