Calendar

A year is composed of ten twenty-four day months and fifteen holidays which are not part of the calendar.

Each month has 4 weeks of 6 days each. The weeks are named in the ancient tongue for the four great powers of the world:

Warus - the week of the warrior
Pious - the week of the priest
Witus - the week of the mage
Slius (sly-us) - the week of the rogue.

The days are named for each of the great races, also in the ancient tongue and in the order in which they appeared in the world

Elus, the first day of the week draws its name from the elves
Goblus, the second day of the week draws its name from the goblin races.
Dwarus, the third day of the week is named for the dwarves.
Ogus, the fourth day is named for the ogres and their kin.
Halus, the fifth day is named for the halflings, though many believe this is a mistake.
Mayus, the last day is named for man.

The months are named for the gods, but the names are in the old tongue and some have been corrupted through common usage.
