Dinner with the Enemy

Prelude

In Corison:

"Minister Cordova, reports are coming in that the Daesiousian and Bnevasisian forces are over taking temples all over. The villagers and people that those temples are supposed to protect are becoming angry and in some areas hostile that the temples can't protect them against these attacks. The temples of Si and Gret are doing what they can to aid us, but it seems that almost of the temples of light are being attacked by the dark temples."

Cordova rises from the alter where he was praying. "Yes, I know." Cordova's tone is very somber "There is a war in the Higher Worlds, Junik. The Lords have been rather active again, and are suddenly taking more of an interest in our little world then they have in a very long time. The Lords of Law and Light are at odds with each other, as the Lords of Chaos and Darkness expand their domains and control. Soon the Amazon's will be the least of our worries. I have seen a world of darkness, and evil where blood flows in the streets and the flesh will be feasted upon." Cordova's face is that of a man who has seen to much. "Soon a Lord of the Higher World will die, then the circle will be complete. And then the world will be like we have never seen."

Junik starts to get a worried look on his face as he listens. "Minister, how do you know all this?"

Cordova just looks him in the eye, "Luck".

Somewhere in Kryll?:

"I am upset with this plan. I am the one that should be in power, not that little bastard child. I do not care what any decree says."

"Patience, Xavier, patience. You will have your time, but for now we will follow the plan and so far the plan is perfect. You will have your chance to make your cousin feel the pain that he so deserves." The old looking man with the grey hair and beard says as he smiles to himself.

"Yesssss. You ssshall have you chanccce. Ssssoon we will sssstrike and when we do they will beg ussss for their livessss." A decaying figure steps out from the shadows, eyes glowing red.

Capital City of Lylival:

"Lord Finian the Astollian army is devestating our western border. While our Mages and the Forest are keeping them at bay, we are not sure how long it will be before they completely break through our lines. We must ask for aid. Shall I contact the Mykyllians?"

"NO!" Finian's face grows angry at such a suggestion. "We will not ask the humans for help. They do not need to be involved. We will deal with this ourselves. If you insist on asking for aid, then contact the other Elven nations. We will not involve the humans in this."

"But that may take weeks before they can arrive. What will we do before then?"

Finian just nods a bit, and an elf dressed in red, carrying a finely crafted bow steps in from the other room.

"He is willing to aid us."

Adventure Summary:

Facing his first hurdle as "Arch-Duke" of the Southern Holdings, Ulrich announced that for the moment all titles and positions would stay as in, until he had more time to look things over. Many of the Dukes, and other people who were put into power by Xavier nervously agreed to it. On the third night of his new reign, Ulrich was visited by Xanlar. Xanlar was Manfred's Intellegence Advisor, since spy is such a nasty word. Xanlar explained about the fighting that has been happening with Falgarra on the borders of the Southern Holdings and how Xavier had negotaited a treaty with them. Now that Xavier was out of power, the word on the street was that Falgarra was ready to move against the Southern Holdings again, viewing the treaty as null and void. Xanlar provided Ulrich with the proper information on where the forces were at on the border. He also explained that Falgarra did mange to move the border back about 25 miles, but during the treaty, they dropped back leaving a 10 mile gap between the Falgarrian forces and that of Ulrich's.

The next morning Ulrich received word that the King of Kryll and the Crown Prince would be arriving in roughly a week to speak with Ulrich. Using Shane's ability to fold time and space, the party joined the Southern Holdings army. Once there, Ulrich sent word to the general of the Falgarrian forces, wishing to speak with him. About four hours later Ulrich received a reply with an invite to dinner with the general.

Ulrich and his entourage joined the General for dinner. The dinner was actaully quite splendid, the General took no offense to Morduke saying a few prayers before everyone started to eat. After dinner was over the General explained that the Falgarrians were still a little sore over the fact that once most of the Southern Holdings of Kyrll was their land. The king of Kryll at the time decided to use his power and take the land from Falgarra, the land that was promised to be theirs forever for their aid in the Great War. It was the feelings of members from the current Royal Family that those lands finally be returned to Falgarra.  The deal was simple, the two soutern baronies with the Southern Holdings would be turned over to Falgarra. In return Falgarra would promise not to ally with the Amazons or allow the Amazons within their borders for any reason. Ulrish wasn't quite sure about the deal and as he thought it over the General produced scrolls that contained outlining notes on the deal from the Crowned Prince himself.

As Ulrich looked the scrolls over, Farrol noticed something in the air and moved his staff qucikly in front of Ulrich, stopping three darts that were aimed for Ulrich's head. Just then Ulrich's shield appeared on his back in time to stop another six darts from hitting him in the back. Thinking quickly (and some will argue not very brightly) Olown let loose with a Ice Storm in the room, killing all but the General and three of his men. However, Olown did manage to injury Toglard and the rest of the group. It wasn't long before the group made short work of the General and his men.

In the aftermath of the fight, the party realized that they were surrounded and locked in the building. They quickly started to form a plan.
