Aredel

When Were We?

Prelude

In the Southern Holdings:

"Lady Adrian, we have fallen into tragic times. Our King slain, our kingdom divided. Your cousin is no were to be found. The world is reaching mass Chaos very quickly. There are rumors that Manfred, the Astolian husband to the Princess is going to envoke ancient Kryllian law and take the position of Regent over the kingdom."

"Yes, I agree Bowgentle. Times have grown dark, we must guard ourselves carefully. Kryll must stand united again, but I can not stand for a Kryll that was ruled by an Astolian." Adrian sighs, "Send word to our forces, we stand on our own."

Adventure Summary

Returning to Aredel the group was stunned to find that they had been gone more than a year while only a few days had passed on the alien plane. They were quickly brought up to speed and learned that things were not going as well for Kryll as they might have hoped. The battle with the ogres had been joined without them and, though it went well for a time, the tide had turned and things were looking bleak for both Pallegan and Kryll.

With a clear foe, the group proceeded rapidly to the Pallegan border and rousted two large forces of ogres from the lands of the Palleg. Malik, who oversaw the operation, was quite pleased, but suggested the group should move on to aid the Kryllians. Rather than waste their time with a bunch of overland trekking and small fights against less than a hundred ogres, Toglard constructed a tactical map showing ogre concentrations and Shane Lee folded the group right into the middle of a force of over 70,000 ogres, orcs, goblins, and other humanoids.

Malik erected his tower and as the ranged fighters and wizards made their way to the top, Shane, Ulrich, and Ferrol began to cut a swath of death through the humanoids. Ferrol used a wish that left the humanoids eager to attack the tower and its residents and the battle was joined. For nearly two minutes, the group rained spells of death and destruction upon the ogres and, if you asked Toglard, it was truly a thing of beauty to behold.
