Shh! Quiet Please

Prelude

On the Amazon Main Island:

"They have made it through to the island, My Lady"

"Excellent, things are working out better then we had hoped."

On a distant plane:

"They have found the location of the Necro Staff, Lord."

"Really?" Val-jean looks up in somewhat amazement. "Well, well, well. They never cease to amaze me."

Adventure Summary

Crossing the island on foot, the group met with a number of obstructions. The first attack came in the form of four giant cats who shadowed the group for miles before finally creating enough worry to bring about their own doom. Malik's bowstring sang as he drove home arrow after arrow into their chests. The rest of the group, inspired by his bravery, soon joined in. The giant cats, though a difficult foe, soon found themselves wishing they'd picked another meal. Of course, by then it was too late and only the sixteen-foot buzzards circling above paid them any mind at all.

The group continued and eventually found a dog large enough to have chased the cats. Once again, Malik leapt to the fore, crying out for the glory of Gramlock even as the first arrow whistled off his bow to land, with a solid thunk in the chest of the dog. Had the members of the group been born three ages of man later, they might have mistaken the steady whistle-chunk of Malik's bow for the sound of an approaching locomotive. They weren't and so the sound was unmistakable and the dog soon resembled nothing more than a train wreck himself.

The group continued until they came to a strange cubicle building where, through the grace of Gramlock and the skill of his servant Malik, they dispatched a few golems of stone and then entered. Searching, they found a library with a strange librarian. Although his fellows were impatient (even reckless) in their questions, Malik soon found how the staff had come to be in this land and how they could pursue it. He also gathered more information on the four, something he's become quite the expert on.

After taking a few wrong turns in the ever-shifting building, they found their way and exited, only to be attacked by a giant fire demon. Only an archer with Malik's skill and strength could have fired arrows fast enough to penetrate the thing's fiery hide before being incinerated. As it was, he barely broke a sweat before sending the beast to its ancestors. The staff continued to elude them, but Malik pressed on.
