The Sleeping Hero
Prelude
In Kryll:
"Prince Agormar, your father's condition is getting worse. The Priest have been unable to find a cure for his sickness."
"Bring me Junik"
"Yes, my Lord"
Somewhere else in Kryll:
"What are you talking about, Daker?"
"Roland has returned, that's what I'm talking about old man." Daker seems a bit nervous. "Balos found him in Relfarin."
"Relfarin?! Why was Roland there? I thought he was serving the Order?"
"He was, but he found away to remove the gem. Ever since then he's been trying to find a stable balance in himself. He's still quite mad. Relfarin was the only place he could do this."
"If Balos has Roland that means there's only one thing he is looking for. We can't waste much time. Find out what you can and let me know."
"Ok, I will but you know this is going to get bloody." Daker leaves quickly through the shadows.
The door opens just as Daker slips out of sight.
"Bowgentle, who are you talking to?"
"What?! Oh just myself dear, it helps me work through what's on my mind."
Adventure Summary
As the group search the temple, they discovered mostly decayed books and trinkets. Using a Wish, Toglard tried to bring all the books back, but only a few were restored. Moving through the temple, they found the main place of worship. There were two statues in the worship area, one of Bnevavis and another no one could place. Malik move closer to study the statue of Bnevavis while Farrol searched the alter.
Malik decided that it would be best to destroy the statue and moved to tip it over. As he did the statue came alive ans swung at Malik. The second statue also came to life and moved towards Farrol on the alter. The party sprung into action as spells, and steel flew through the air. The statues where tough but it wasn't long before the statues were destroyed. They party healed themselves and moved through the upper floors ofthe temple. On the upper floor they found another coffin, this time the man inside was still alive but in some sort of stasis. After some investigating, Toglard believe the soul of the man was trapped somewhere else and with the soul they woul be able to free the man.
Using a "find the path" Toglrad and the group headed out for the trapped soul. It took them back outside into the swamp, as they dove into the swamp, they were attacked by some undead water creature. A well aimed distengrate took care of it. As they sunk deeper in the mirky water Ulrich was the first to come across a cave. Entering the cave, Ulrich found that it was free of water and had solid land.
As the group moved through the cave they found a cavern that led into another cave area. Looking down it, Farrol saw a eye looking back at him, then the cavern filling up with fire as it filled the cave the group was in. Mailk wasing no time let seven arrows go, killing the creature. Farrol moved quickly through the cavern and entered the cave first. It was then he noticed six other of these lizard creatures. Farrol moved quickly through them, it was apparent these were the young of the beast they just killed. They gathered the small about fo treasure that was there and moved on. The found another cave with a beholder floating there. It lasted less then 5 seconds with the group.
Moving into the last cave they found a great demon there. The fight was bloody and in the end the group was able to slay the demon. The pearl sat on a ledge int he cave, the group collected the pearl and headed back to the temple.
Using the pearl and a sacrfice of power from Toglrad they were able to free the man from his slumber. He was still in stasis, and Morduke believed that he would recover soon. And the party headed back the the encampment of Malk's men.
