Aredel

Root of Evil

Prelude

In the Tower:

Nadimus busy in his studies looks up sharply. His eyes dart back and forth as if he is processing something in his mind he can not believe. "KRYLOR!"

Krylor appears in the room just as quick as he was called for. "What is it Nadimus."

"Something terrible has happened. The Staff has been broken." Krylor looks shocked by this news and nods.

"I will search for the fate fo the staff." And then Krylor is gone.

Some outer plane of existence:

Snort walks into the throne room with a large smile on his face, Val-jean watches him as he approaches the throne.

"What has you so happy Snort? Kill yourself again?" Val-jean asks with a smirk on his face. Snort just gives a condescending smile in return.

"Why yes I did, but that's not why I am so amused. It seems our adversaries have managed to break The One Staff."

Val-jean's eyes light up. "They Broke it?! That means the Staff is...and he is.....oh this is most amusing. Balos will be rather happy to hear this news."

"I am."

Adventure Summary

As the group moved up to attack the second group of giants a half-dozen immense birds took flight. The birds were the largest flying creatures anyone in the group had seen or heard of. They bore riders and palanquins equipped with strange technological weapons. Sadly for both birds and riders, none of their technology appeared to be of the protective variety and soon all six birds and their riders were dead, leaving enough poultry in the area to feed two or three kingdoms for a month if only someone could devise a way to cook it.

Ulrich and his band met briefly with the leaders of the town and found that the trouble all began on the other side of the mountains with an evil man named Bagel (or something like that). Using the dimensional fold and a native guide, they quickly arrived outside his keep. They were invited in, spoke very briefly and proceeded to aggressive negotiations.

The wizard was powerful and had a spell that prevented much of the damage they inflicted. Luckily, Toglard was able to trap the players and their quarry in a wall of force, leaving many of his minions unable to join the battle. The fight was brief, bloody, and vicious and the party once again emerged victorious, thanks in no small part to the skills of Shane Lee.

The group met up with Gusmer, a planar ranger who had been sent to find them and he helped them to return to Aredel
