Aredel

When Were We Again?

Prelude

In some strange plane:

"My Lord, it has been confirmed. Ulrich and his friends have returned to Aredel." Val-jean reports as Balos stares out the window. He turns slowly.

"Returned, eh? Little sooner then I expected...interesting." he seems to then shrug it off. "Now tell me of our plans in the north.."

In the Tower:

"Well it's about time they got back."

Adventure Summary

The death and destruction of the ogres continued for a time until finally the evil four appeared and used some crazy epic spell to attack the group with a beam that started out bright and caressing and shifted to inky blackness. Some members of the group were very badly wounded, others moved in slow motion. The ogres were killed but began to move again, increasing in size as they did.

Malik took down the tower and, as he and Shane Lee made preparations to leave, Toglard unleashed a flurry of Meteor Swarms on the mutated ogres, leaving them nearly all dead. The rest of the group followed up his attack in their own way and the group departed for Toglardia, satisfied they had done tremendous damage to the forces of Syvkur.

There they found that the place had been renamed to Ejyna, an ancient word for Truth. Nadimus was there, as was the Tower of the Elements. The kingdom had flourished under Pen's rule in a way that it never would have had Toglard remained its king. They met with King Pen and his council and learned more of what had happened. Apparently when they left the plane of Aredel, something had blocked spells which tried to trace them and many had come to believe them dead. They listened to the tales and soaked in the information, then asked some questions of their own.

Nadimus' research had been partially successful and he told them they could find the staff of bone on the Forgotten Isles. In preparation for their trip, Ulrich, who now wielded the ring of Water, set out to recover the Ship of Earth and Sea. Sadly, the King of Water no longer had it and he was forced to find the King of Earth. There, after much haggling and some ass-kissing, he was given use of the boat for a year if he would promise to do one service for the Earth king and to prove himself in combat. He did both, besting two huge elementals who split into smaller ones when defeated in single combat. He was accompanied on his mission by Shane Lee and, of course, Ferrol.

The others remained in the tower. Toglard and Malik took advantage of the newly found flexibility of time to move to a faster moving plane, one to do spell research the other to read through the library that had been recovered in the waste.

The group plans to go to the magically dead Forgotten Isles to recover the Staff of Bone as soon as possible.
