Prelude
Adventure Summary
The company arrives in Ambroe and begins searching for Thiador. With the Ring of Planes as the likely prize for his defeat, Gusmer is more than eager to meet, slay and loot the bastard. Unfortunately, their plan to do this Toglard-free ran into a little snag when Val-Jean returns bringing along a few friends and a few dragons.
Gusmer calls for Toglard, he arrives and the real battling begins. Fire scorches the battlefield in dozens of places and nothing that burns can survive Toglard's wrath at being late for the party. Under cover of Toglard's fury, Shane and Gusmer descend to the bottom of the cliffs where many wizards, including Thiador await.
Both survive many attacks and the wizards are slowly but surely defeated as other members of the group, concerned about Toglard's judgement gradually move to spots where he can't see them. Toglard blasts Val-Jean but not before he opens a gate and summons forth a Higher Being. Gramlock and the being engage in a monumental battle until even the mountain itself is shattered by their cataclysmic struggle.
A few dragons escape, but not many. Val-Jean is killed (again) as is Thiador (for the first time). Gusmer takes the ring and the dead apprentices yield a great bounty of magical items as well.
