Climate: Average Seasons/Northern parts see hard winters
Known As: Corisans
Primary Lang: Common, Corisan
Capitol City: Varies
Population: Roughly 1.5 million people
Ruler: High Preist of Gramlock (Current controling Temple)

People:

The people of Corison are a very religous people. They are stern followers of the God and follow their beliefs to the letter. Some Corisans have been known to be more fanatical about their beliefs then others. While each religion has differences in their belief structure, overall the Gods of Good are worshipped in Corison and the different temples have learned to co-exist with very little conflict.

Brief History:

Corison was founded on the belief that people should be able to worship any of the Gods that they wanted to. When religous freedom was threatened almost 2000 years ago, many priests of the temples of good moved to the northern continent to avoid prosecuction from the king of Balna who believe that Maximus was the only God and that all others were worthless compared to him. When the priests moved to Corison they natives had never even heard of Gods, let only seen magik. Dazzled by the powers of the Priest they soon sought to learn about these Gods. Soon temples were built, and followers filled them. It wasn't long before the Gods of Evil saw that Corison was filled with niave people who would not only follow them, but serve them blindling. Soon, temples to the Gods of Evil started to appear in the south western areas of Corison.

Culture:

The culture of Corison is every changing. Each town and city will generally have their own varition on the culture of their God, generally the High Temple's culture is seen setting the tone for the rest of the kingdom. However, the expression of your beliefs is fully accepted and the mixing of culture's can be found.

Ruling Structure:

Corision's ruling structure is the only in Aredel that is completely religious based. Every two years during the Gathering of the Gods, the high priest of each religion gathers and then determines which Temples to the Gods have the most influence and then the controlling power is shifted to them. For the past three years, Gramlock has had the most influnce over the people of Corison.

Economy:

In the north of Corison where the weather is wicked and the winters are hard, there are many poor villages and towns, along with poor temples due to the narrow choices of crops and industrial abilities. Still, evern though the people and temples in the north are poor, their brother temples from the south do everything they can to help them out. People in the north are never without food in their belly, clothes on their back, or a roof over their head. (albeit it's not the most, or the best some of the time). Towards the south the economy starts to pick up since the land and climate is better suited for farming and industrial advancement.

Sub Structure:

There are no real Baronies or division of land. Each Temple generally has an area of influence and they are responible for that area. Currently most of the south-western area of Corison is control by temples devoted to the Gods of Evil, while there are some evil temples through out the rest of the land it is generally control by temples to the Gods of Good. Most of the activity takes place in the southern portions of Corison due to the hard and long winters in the north.

Technology:

Certian temples in Corison, such as Gramlock, have been known to have some technological devices that they use. But overall, technology is very low in Corison. They believe their Gods will provide for them and no man made device will every out due with the Higher Lords do.

Arts:

The interest in Arts in Corison are usually based on what their religous beliefs will allow them to enjoy. There is a god or two that have interests in the Arts, those that follow them are usually also poets or painters.

Fashion:

Fashion in Corison is every changing since every will follow the clothing guidelines of their religions, and there are quite a few religous dress codes put forth by the gods.

Politics:

Politics are a condiered a "necessary evil" so to speak in Corison. World politics interfer with the every day practices of the Temples and is only addressed when absolutely needed. Other wise the high priests of the temples will take care of the issues and problems at hand.

Orders & Groups:

Corison is broken up by the Temples of the Gods.

Religion:

Religion is the most important thing to a Corisan. The every day living of thier religious belief structure is as needed as the heart is to pump blood to the brain. The people of Corison will die for their beliefs and fight to the end for their God.

Current Status:

Currently, the temples of evil have started to move against the temples of good. They are working towards destroying all the temples of good. The evil temple of B'Nevasis seems to be leading this revolt against the temple of Gramlock and the other temples of good. This is causing quite a bit of chaos and confusing through out the land since almost every temple is now at arms against one another in some for or another. There are very few alliances right now, some good temples are aiding the temples of Gramlock, but some, like the temples of Sia, are waiting for Gramlock to fall so they may take their place as ruling temple.

Outlook on other Countries:

The people of Corison are holy people and good people. They frown on kingdoms and those who try to oppress others, and those who show signs of following the forces of Evil.

Playing a Corisan Character:

Common Roles:

Paladins and Priests are the most common types of people to come out of Corison and adventure into the world. Spritual leaders, shamans and other religous figures are also on the list of things you would find a Corisan doing.
