Way of Bear
Purpose
Students of the Way of Bear try to utilize the strength of Bear in their daily life.
History
The origins of the Way of Bear are lost. They are known to have originated in Timor Plains, but the savages there kept no histories. It is believed by most that all other Paths and Ways were inspired by the original six of Timor Plains, but no one now knows which of those was first.
Philosphy
All animals have much to teach us, but Bear is the greatest of all.
Joining
The secrets of Bear are open only to the Children of Bear.
Membership in Way of Bear is exclusive. Members must also meet the following requirements:
Strength 13+Secrets
Those who follow Bear will teach their Level 1 and 2 secrets to anyone who follows another animal Way. They will teach their level 1 secrets to those who follow a natural Way of any kind.
Level 1 Technique Cost Prereqs Effect Bear Stance 100 Str 13+ The character gets a +2 bonus against any attempts to overun or trip him. Level 2 Bear Sprint 200 The character can charge and make a full attack. This ability can be used once/day per point of natural strength bonus. Bear Speech 200 The character can speak with Bears Level 3 Bear Strength 400 The character gains 1d4+1 points of Strength for 6 rounds. This ability can be used once/day per point of natural strength bonus. Bear Strike 400 The character can strike open-handed for 1d8 points of damage. Level 4 Bear Hug 800 Bear Strike If the character hits with two open-hand attacks, he can squeeze his opponent for 2d6 points of damage. Bear Friend 800 Bear Speech The character can use animal friendship on a bear. Level 5 Bear Shape 1600 The character can change from human to bear form 1/day per 5 levels. Changing back is free.
