Generally, I'd like everyone to follow a few simple rules when making a character and to be aware of a couple of things:
- You should have some serious character flaw. You can be an outlaw, a conman, a womanizer, a liar, a card cheat or whatever. You probably shouldn't be a coward. You could be wrongly accused, but don't plan on clearing your name the first night.
- You owe Halinger loyalty beyond being paid or you are loyal to another player who is in turn loyal to Halinger. This should probably be unshakeable for the first five or six adventures.
- The game intends to be nomadic, so please don't start a character who has a secret base or hidden lab or tons of equipment to haul around.
- It may be difficult to be extremely pious in this game.
- Despite their character flaws, the people you're riding with are both loyal and important to Halinger. Killing them is a bad idea. On the other hand, if you're some kind of complete asswipe, you'll probably die in the first hail of bullets, some of them might even be fired by the other bad guys.
If you want, you can take up to 5 points in the following hindrances in addition to the normal 10 pts. This means you could get 15 extra points to build your character based on hindrances rather than the normal limit of 10. I'll consider others as "reprehensible" on a case-by-case basis.

I'd rather no one start the game as harrowed or veteran of the weird west, but I'll probably make exceptions if the reasoning is cool and will add to the excitement of the other players.
