Player's Perspective
Soro knew a pretty good place to buy the Snubfighters we wanted, a dustball called Ares VII where the Trade Federation did some interesting business. Crack astrogater Owen laid in a course for Aries V and we arrived in record time, then flew subspace to our actual destination.
On the planet we met up with a trader named Bliss. There was some tough negotiation but in the end, he set us up with the four headhunters, some better guns for them and a beat up simulator for the cash we had to offer. After even more negotiation, he hooked us up with a battered shield generator, a couple of long-range quad guns, and a new turret for the ship.
While Boz and Soro shopped for various contraband items, Koubla took young Owen out and bought him a data pad so he could remember where we were going in the future. He also secured some parts so he could build his own light saber.
With the shopping completed, Boz installed the shield and weapons in the Hawk and they set out for the planet. The new shields came in handy as they were attacked by a Headhunter almost as soon as they dropped into the atmosphere. The bastard was lucky, having caught them at short range.
He opened up with his concussion missiles and a shot from his blaster cannon. Soro gracefully slid the ship sideways and the slow moving missiles missed, but the blaster shot hit and knocked the shields out almost completely. Soro and Owen returned fire, scoring a single hit with the pair of quad lasers they'd installed on Aries VII.
Boz rerouted some power to the shields and angled them at the Headhunter, hoping not to take any more damage. The Headhunter pilot fired again, and again connected with only his blaster. This time, the shields absorbed his attack easily. Soro switched to autofire and scored two its; Owen scored one. Despite the frantic efforts of the enemies astromech, his ship exploded in a ball of fire on impact.
Heading down towards clan Firewalker, they spotted the wreckage of a second Headhunter. After getting clearance from Mazar, they landed. While Boz took a look at the minor hull damage from the blaster shots, Soro supervised the unloading of the cargo. Owen and Koubla joined a team that had gone to check on the second Headhunter.
When the team returned, they had a battered astromech and the pilot of the ruined Headhunter. Koubla helped make sure the natives didn't kill him and Boz convinced them to let him teach their pilots without a slave collar. There was some grumbling about it being their land and their laws, but they decided to comply (at least for the moment) with the wishes of the Century Hawk's captain and crew.
