No good deed...

Prelude

Somewhere in Olaf Springs
So you say these fellas were mixed up in that business a few months back
Well, I wouldn't say it was all their fault, but they definitely were involved
That don't seem right. The Baron's always been real good to us.
I know. I just don't know how they've managed to fool him.
Honest men never expect a lie. What did you say your name was again?

Elsewhere in Ansalea
Again?
I'm afraid so my liege
That does it. Call out the captain and have him send some of his elite troops to deal with them.
The Kurd lord?
At the very least.

Summary of the Adventure

The company, hard on the trail of the traitorous Draynor, journey to Olaf Springs hoping to capture or perhaps kill him. The first days riding goes fairly well, with no encounters and the group makes camp for the night in a lovely field

Around midnight, most of the company is awakened by the sound of Daran screaming and then abruptly falling silent. They are under attack from above. A band of Urd, taking advantage of the cloudy night, are dropping rocks on them from above.

The Urd have a clearly superior position, since the members of the company can barely see them. The group scrambles for what little cover there is, with Andi taking the unconscious Daran to safety. While Brother Urbane tends to Daran's wounds, the Urd offer the company the chance to surrender.

Daran and Andi quickly acede to this request, while Taernac creates an illusion showing himself and Androth complying as well. Their intention is to attack the Urd once they come into view. Brother Urbane refuses to surrender, saying that to surrender would be a lie. The Urd are angered by this and renew their attacks.

Andi and Daran are badly wounded and one of the horses is killed before the Urd leave. Brother Urbane manages to kill one with a well-timed Hold Person spell and Androth wounds some of them as well, but the Urd are in little danger.

Luckily, the Urds run out of rocks and are forced to retrieve more. In the lull, the company seeks refuge in a group of trees further up the trail. When the Urd return, the cover of the tree foils their efforts and they eventually fly off.

The company continues on to Olaf Springs where they, particularly Brother Urbane, receive a less than cordial greeting. It seems that Draynor has told the locals that Urbane is a witch who has the Baron under some evil spell. They also discover that they are two days behind Draynor and that he was heading east, into the more heavily populated lands.

After discovering the Urds live in caves in the mountains to the north west, the company elects to leave their pursuit of Draynor for another time and returns to Ansalea. Once there, they decide to investigate the Orc stronghold instead
