  Adventure Summary

From the base of the falls, the posse could see a lone figure standing on a rock at the head of the falls. Frank's keen eyesight revealed the man no longer looked wholly human. His mouth and jaw were elongated and he had the snout of a wolf, though he continued to chant. While the group watched and debated, Skinner came out and joined the other man in his chant. The group began to inch forward. The Gaunt Man, apparently having heard them, opened fire from his hiding place, putting two well-aimed bullets into Hector's skull. Thinking fast Hector fell as if he'd been shot. When the Gaunt Man demanded they surrender, Kincaid threw his empty gunbelt into the water. Crowe disappeared into the shadows and Frank found a spot behind a stump where he could watch for the Gaunt Man. His persistence paid off and he spotted the famous gunslinger. Rather than watch his friends fall prey to snipers one by one, Frank took careful aim and plugged the Gaunt Man in the head from almost fifty yards. Even as his friends began commending his lucky shot, he repeated the feat a second and then a third time. The third time, the Gaunt Man dodged and took better cover.

Meanwhile, the rest of the group began running towards the waterfall and up to where Skinner and the shaman were conducting some ritual. Kincaid stopped on his trek up the hill to throw lead into Skiller, killing him. In a cave behind the falls, the kid recoiled in horror when he came to only to find two circus freaks stabbing an Indian girl. He worked his way loose of his bonds and went for his guns as the two freaks headed for the front of the cave. Crowe reached the top first, determined the Gaunt Man was dead and headed towards the cave. As he stepped in, the two hulking figures rushed him. Above them, the preacher's bullet riddle body fell into the spring and was swept over the falls. Frank pushed the shaman into the falls as well. The two freaks charged Crowe and dove at him, hoping to tackle the smaller man. He sidestepped nimbly and the two burst through the falls and fell to the water. Hector, startled by the noise, put several rounds into each of them as they fell. A moment later the shaman joined them. The posse found over $15,000 and collected another $3,000 in bounty. They were also declared friends of the Hakawi.
