  Adventure Summary

The posse was ordered by the Marshall to investigate the disappearance of a train containing a shipment of experimental weapons from Smith and Robards to Fort Colliers, just outside of Laramie. The train was last seen, still under heavy guard, in the town of Red Bluff.

Led by Kincaid, the group headed out for Debt Marsh. After five long days on the trail, they arrived in town. Red Bluff turned out to be a small town with little more than a rail station and two saloons. The posse split up and each went to one saloon, in part to look for the sheriff.

When they finally found the sheriff, Kincaid managed to offend him and he wasn't much help, insisting that the whole thing was a “Federal Matter” and therefore out of his jurisdication. Urek managed to smooth things over enough to find out the train had arrived about an hour and a half late, but had left with crew and cargo seemingly still intact.

A talk with the rail station manager left them convinced they needed to track the train through the swamp to Laramie. Luckily, the rails were obvious enough that anyone could follow them. The group stopped first at the Pullman place. Mrs. Pullman hadn't seen the train but her husband had. While the others waited Kincaid went to speak with Pullman and confirmed that he had, in fact, seen the train.

They continued their trek along the tracks, eventually arriving at the O'Riley place. They were greeted warmly and put up for the night. The O'Riley's were friendly, but not particularly helpful - they didn't seem to know much.

In the morning their luck finally improved and they spotted a place where the train might have been diverted from the tracks. Crowe stripped down to search, but was quickly driven back to shore by carnivorous fish. The posse dynamited the fish, then shot them as they floated. As they dealt with the fish, somebody shot one of the horses straight through the head, killing it.

Figuring it was LeBeaux, they began looking for him and his shed. They found it pretty quickly and Kincaid was nearly blown in half when a double-barreled shotgun wired to the door fired at him. As they searched the house, finding an experimental gun, a bunch of voodoo components, and six hundred dollars, LeBeaux took out another of the horses.

Unfortunately for him, the posse was ready and they soon spotted him, despite a pretty good hiding place. Kincaid told Urek to aim for the shoulder so they could wound him and both shot him. Frank's pistol tore into him and left him gasping for breath, but Kincaid's rifle finished him, leaving the posse with very few leads to investigate.

<-- Can't find 'em.
