The posse gathered up in the morning to head out to Mirror Lake to investigate the strange wolves. When they got out to the lake they found the
remains of the attacked family's picinic. The basket had been swarmed with ants, but the spot had been otherwises untouched. They found numerous
wolve tracks around the site, and they began to follow them hoping to find the wovles and their den. As the posse searched for the wolvces,
they heard strange noises above them, only to find the Professor and Armando circling around the lake in the Professor's flying machine. Diving Hawk, Aubrey's indian friend, stepped out
of the woods and cursed the white man's medicine.
The Posse continued on when they suddenly heard strange howling, when they looked to the source ofthe howling they saw 12 wovles, with blood red eyes and blood foam in their mouths, coming over the hill in front of them.
The hellish howling had some effect on the posse as it sent Virgil high tailing it out of there, froze Aubrey dead to his horse, and un-nerved the rest of the posse.
The posse opened fire on the wolves as they came charging down on the posse. The posse put a few rounds into the wolves but they just kept on coming. Crow and Zach started to give ground, firing into the
pack as they did. Shortly after Crow and Zach gave ground, Zeke gave a yell and tossed a stick of dynamite into the oncoming pack, and high tailed it out of there. Kinkaid followed suit, with Diving Hawk grabbing Aubrey and following.
The explosion was massive, enough that Armond and the professor saw it from the sky and headed that way. Hector, however, wasn't as fast as the rest of the posse and got caught in the blast but came out of it OK. The wolves were mostly
killed, and those that weren't were badly wounded. The posse made short work of them. Armando practiced some sharpshooting on the wolves from the flying machine.
After the posse finished off the wolves and the effects of the howling wore off, they went looking for the den to make sure the got them all.
They found the den under a dark tree, and when they entered they got an eerie feeling upon them. In the den, the posse found the remains of a man. The remains weren't that old, but
he did carry a Navy issued single action pistol, and they also found a strange box that contained a copy of Hoyle's Guide to Card Games. Crow to an interest in the book. Collecting the remains of the dead man, the party headed back to town.
Back in town, Zeke dumped a buring carcass of a wolf in the town square and headed off to the saloon to buy a round of drinks and tell the town what had happened out there and that the threat was gone. Most the possed went with him, while Kinkaid went to check on the mother and child that the wolves had attacked the night before.
At the Doc's office, he found that they had gotten worse due to some sort of infection in their blood and their wasn't much he could do for them. Kinkaid sent for Crow and when Crow got there he looked the woman and child over. He told the Doc he needs to find a flower that grows by the water and with the flower he can make a tea that
will cure this infection. Crow set off to find the flower when he ran in to Aubrey who thank him and paid him. When Aubrey asked about the rest of the possed getting the money, Crow told him they can wait and asked Aubrey to go and get this flower he was looking for, it was a matter of life and death. Aubrey went on his way to help.
Later then night Crow remembered that Alice grew flowers and asked her for help on finding the flower he was looking for. Luckly, she was growing them herself and gave them all to Crow. Crow gathered the flowers and made the tea, after drinking the tea the woman and child looked to be getting better.
Aubrey showed up in the morning with a sack full of the flowers and gave them to Crow, and then finished off paying the posse.
The wolves got the way they were from eating the flesh of an un-rested soul.
The wolves could spread a blood illness in those they bite.
Crow knows the cure for the blood illness
The town is looking to have a town meeting about Kinkaid as the sheriff
