Zeke joined Alice and the professor for a little picnic up at Mirror Lake. The vittles were good and the company was okay too, although Zeke didn't really feel the same way about Alice that she seemed to feel about him. The picnic was interrupted by the arrival of a chinaman named Kai Low who claimed the professor had killed his brother. Zeke talked him out of killing the professor and instead coming to town to talk to the judge to get things straight.
Meanwhile, Armando was trying to learn a little more about poker, Hector and Edgar were taking some target practice and Kincaid, Virgil and Cletus were enjoying a cold beer. Edgar and Hector ran out of bottles and decided the best way to get more would be to go back to the saloon and empty them.
They sat down for a beer and Hector noticed a couple of his old friends in the bar, the (argh) brothers. At about the same time, Kincaid recognized them from their wanted posters. He and Cletus got up to make the arrest and the (argh) brothers tried to talk them out of it. While that discussion took place, another discussion was beginning behind them.
Armando noticed that his opponent seemed to be cheating and accused him of it. The other man was incensed and denied it vigorously, claiming he'd never cheated in his life. Armando repeated his accusation and the man called him out. Armando was much faster and left the cowpoke lying on the ground clutching at his belly.
At that point, Kincaid decided to leave Cletus watch the two hardened criminals while he arrested Armando. There was a scuffle, but Kincaid eventually managed to overpower the Spaniard and clap him in irons. The (argh) brothers seemed unimpressed and still weren't interested in being arrested. After some more discussion, Kincaid opted to escort them out of town and take Armando to jail.
Cletus fetched the judge who was more than a little surprised to hear that Armando had been arrested after being called out by another man while two men accused of rape and robbery were just shown out of town. He bade Kincaid release Armando, despite Kincaid's protest that Armando had resisted arrest, and ordered Armando to leave town. Kincaid and Cletus lost their tempers at this latest outrage and turned in their badges.
Armando was shown out of town, promptly circled to the south and returned. Frank was made the new sherrif. The professor's whirlybird showed up around then, coming in from the south, the opposite direction of Mirror Lake. Virgil was a little surprised and he and the sheriff went to greet the professor. A few questions later, they were certain the man they were looking at wasn't the professor. Most of the posse had shown up by this point and were just waiting for him to make a wrong move.
When Frank told him he was arrested, the man pulled a lever on his whirlibird. Crowe, Kincaid and Cletus all shot at him for his trouble. The lever activated some sort of lock that closed the bird up tight. The man was taken to jail. The judge was sent for and the group was able to convince him that the man in the cell wasn't the professor. To help prove it, Cletus and Virgil headed north to try and find Zeke.
Meanwhile, Crowe and Kincaid were fooling with the whirlibird trying to open it. Crowe eventually succeeded and the bird opened up. The two of them decided to mess with some of the levers to try and sabotage the bird and managed to launch two sticks of dynamite at the professor's barn. When the sheriff came, he put the two of them under arrest (for malicious destruction and disobeying his request that they not mess with things) as well, leaving them and the professor in jail.
When the real professor returned, he was distraught at the sight of his destroyed barn. While the sheriff and the rest of the group tried to talk it over with the real professor and see what was going on, Hector entered the jail with murder on his mind. The ersatz professor turned out to have some sort of bomb which he claimed would be triggered by his death. Satsfied the man wasn't trying to escape, Hecotr left. The other two escaped as well and were met by the sheriff and judge when they returned to compare professors.
After some questioning it was decided that the two of them could stay out of jail for the moment, but the fake professor would have to stand trial. Zeke, Cletus and Virgil lent a hand cleaning up the professor's barn.
