You have 4 stats:
Academics which is book learning, research etc.
Athletics anything physical including combat.
Technology which involves buying, creating and using technology
Contact which is anything social
You get 9 dice, every stat has to be at least a 1, no stat can be more than 4.
You need to pick a profession, either what you're doing now in addition to chasing the paranormal or what you did before you quit/retired to join Inspectres.
You also get one talent which is something you're good at. It can be broad or narrow and you define it. So if you say you used to be a plumber and your talent is master plumber you get an extra die when your talent is relevant.
It could be for athletics if you use a pipewrench to hit someone. It could be for academics if it's about the history of plumbing, etc.
