General Information
- A legion is formed of 10 Brigades and it is commanded by a Patriarch with a military rank equal to a Duke. A Patriarch has a staff of Centurions equal to counts.
- A Brigade is formed of 10 Phalanx, it is commanded by a Brigadier who has a military rank equal to a count. A Brigadier has a staff of Majors equal to knights.
- A Phalanx formed of 4 platoons, it is commanded by a Captain who has a military rank equal to a knight. A Captain has a staff of Sergeant Majors equal to squires.
- A Platoon is formed of 5 Lances, a Lieutenant who has a military rank equal to a squire commands it. A Lt. has a least one Master Sergeant.
- A Lance is formed of 4 men plus a Sergeant who commands.
During peacetime there is a attempt to circulate a new man into a lance to work his way up over 4 years to command the lance as a sergeant. This is done so that if there is a massive call up most veterans will have some command and training experience if he is placed in charge of 4 untrained draftees.

Brigade commander.- Adriac Strangreni: A twenty-year veteran given command of one of the Phalanx of the 1st legion. Since the 1st legion all have a rank one step up then normal this puts him in command by rank. A ageing man fond of retelling stories of his glory days, but he did serve in the north and is still a able commander.
1st Phalanx:- A detachment of the Imperial Guard. The Guard is the Emperors personal bodyguard and the only troops allowed to form within the capital, mostly serves as a training school for officer since the lowest commanding rank is a Lt commanded lance. The 1st Phalanx is formed mostly of lesser nobles who the rest of the Imperial Guard was glad to get rid of.Members of the 1st start with a long sword, breastplate armor, large shield, cold weather gear, and 3 javelins.
2nd Phalanx:- Rounded up nobles and imperial messengers to serve as a unit of Calvary. Members of the 2nd are armed with short bows, lances, and long swords. They are issued a horse, winter gear, Quad pistol, medium shield and breastplate armor if they don’t have them, or may use their own equipment.
3rd Phalanx:- Recalled Veterans who settled down in the capital.
Members of he 3rd are equipped with 3 javelins, a short sword, winter gear, large shield and Chain armor.
4th Phalanx:- A experimental unit in training at the Imperial war collage and now called into active duty. Members of he 4th are equipped with Firepowder rifle, a short sword, winter gear, and studded leather armor.
5th Phalanx:- Local militia rounded up from the surrounding countryside and on the march to the north, commanded by recalled officers. Members of he 5th are equipped with 3 javelins, a short sword, winter gear, large shield and Studded leather armor.
6th Phalanx:- A detachment of the 6th legion, the Imperial Engineering Legion.
Members of the 6th are armed with short swords, hand axes, pistols, large shields and leather armor.
While they don’t have personal horses, 1 patrol is equipped with Lt cannons and a behemoth to pull them, another is equipped with 10 behemoths to drag supply wagons and clear a path through the snow. Of the two remaining platoons are one is equipped with grenades, the other with Swivelguns.
7th Phalanx:- Raised troops of House Arosatai. Hired veterans, loyal retainers, house gentry. Members of he 7th are equipped with 3 javelins, a short sword, winter gear, large shield and Chain armor.
8th Phalanx:- Raised troops of House Harkenin. Hired thugs, professional gladiators, and debtors to the house.
Members of he 8th are equipped with 3 javelins, a short sword, large shields, winter gear, and Chain armor: all of substandard quality.
9th Phalanx:- Raised troops of House Faltaini: Dishonorably discharged veterans, paroled criminals.
(The house is badly in dept, but a imperial command must be obeyed).

10th Phalanx:- Trained troops of House Faren: All female unit raised and trained by ruling duchess of the house frustrated at exclusion of women from imperial legions.
Since the duchess is the maternal aunt of Emperor Vagus and this is a emergency for once she is getting her way.
