Starting a Character
Basic Rules
- Players start at third level
- Players may sacrifice half their current level in XPs to learn a extra Feat, if they have a Mentor to teach it to them. This will not lower their current level.
- Players may start with a Mentor. A Mentor has a Mentor score at start equal to 6+ the players Charisma mod. The Mentor knows Feats Equal to their Mentor score.
- Players may start with A number of 1st level Henchmen equal to their Charisma Mod.
- Players may start with contacts equal to their Charisma modifier. Contacts are friend lies who may create items, spy for the players, or even just offer up a place to stay for the night.
- Players start with a bonus ancestral feat, descendant of the Yung Giants may chose Speak with animals ( birds only ) at will as this feat.
- Players may choose feats from the Feats and Martial Feats lists in addition to the normal lists.
Races
Human The majority of the middle kingdom. Dwarves Although there are Oriental dwarves, they are more of a primitive tribal group. PH dwarves live in the Kunlun Mountains with much the same lifestyle as normal. Rare in populated areas. Halfling Called the traveling people, same lifestyle and reputation as gypsies. Gnome The little folk, protectors of nature and holy sights. Half-orcs Called Foxed haired princes, most have green eyes and red hair and are mostly found in the province of Khai, were they are considered lucky. Elves Called the Lords of the western isles. Haunty, arrogant, over fancified homicidal fops. If on mainland are probably from Zhang or a exile. Half-elves Either model themselves on the Western lords or violently hate them, common enough in house Han to be accepted. Hengeyokai Royalty of the animal kingdom. Shapeshifter who can take on human shape. Spirit folk Fruit of the union of a nature spirit and a human. Classes
Players may use any of the following classes following the normal class guidelines from the Player's Handbook: Fighter, Rangers, Barbarians, Bard, Priests, Monks, Sorcerers, and Rogue. In addition, the following special classes are available at first level:
Sohei A warrior monk who protects the faith. (paladin) Shaman Go between of spirit world and mortals (druid) Wu Jen Elemental wizard who take oaths to gain powers (mage) Samurai Dedicated warrior whose ancestral swords gain in power (fighter) Shugenja Priest who aligns elemental forces for great harmony (divine sorcerer)
