Ok time for everyone to bitch, but I'm making a few changes. First, I'm getting rid of the gimmies..to much of a pain in the ass. And now for the fun stuff, second, I'm modifing how the card rules work for the game.
New Dork20 Card Use Rules:
1) All players start the session with 4 cards from the deck. Dealt by the DM only.
2) The cards now have four functions in which they work:
A) Card Effect:
Simply by turning a card in, the effect described by the text on the card occurs. Use of cards for card effects must be played first before rolls or actions are taken, otherwise it will be considered use B.
B) Saving Throws/Skill/Ability Check:
If you fail a saving throw, or skill/ability check you may turn a card in for a minimal success. EXCEPT FOR THE FOLLOWING: Rolls of natural 1's, if the save/check is missed by more then 10 of the needed DC.
C) Automatic Critical:
On an attack roll where you are allowed to roll for a critical threat(ie scored a natural roll in your threat range) you may instead spend two cards and automatically score a Critical, avoiding the second roll.
D) Percentage of XP's needed for next level:
A single card is worth 50 X Current Level in XPs. Cards must be spent at the end of the night _only_ otherwise you lose your cards until the next session.
3) Playing a card on another player:
In order to play a card in your hand on/for another player the card effect _must_ state that the effect is on another creature/player. Otherwise you must pay an extra card for on the spot effects. ie: To help Revere make his Will save, Denser must either play a card that has that effect or he may discard two cards from his hand. Also: Waylon has scored a hit within his Critical Threat range, but does not have enough cards. Revere may spend three cards to allow Waylon an automatic critical hit.
4) Exchanging Cards:
Players may exchange cards right after the DM deals them out. The exchange must be even. Therefore, if Revere gives Waylon two cards that he feels they will aid him better, Waylon must give up two of his cards to Revere.
5) Reward Cards / The Dead Pile:
After a card is spent it is then placed in the dead pile and is out of the game until next session when a fresh deal is made. You may pull cards from the dead pile only if you have a card with such effect. Reward cards maybe given for the following: Well timed comments and/or actions, roleplaying, high activity in the game during the session.
6) DM and Cards
The DM will be dealt three cards during the deal at the beginning of the session. The DM has the right to use those cards for functions A and B listed above. However, when the players opt to use function C of the cards the DM is allowed a draw from the deck.

It's safe to say that everyone but Revere has made a level..but then again..that might change once I do the actaul numbers.

I am glad I am not the only one who confuses which character is in who's game....

and hey, be careful when you use the experience tool - it doesn't know about "parts" yet, so if you enter more xps against the same adventure the totals will be right, but not the amounts. I think if it was me I'd either make the parts thing work or use the database manager to add the rows. You could also temporarily update your stuff to make parts default to 2.

I don't remember. I do know it's 50 x your current level per card. I think John's was like 1050 and Lou's was 1400 then another 400, but I could be wrong

What did we say I owed Lou and John for their cards, Steve?

Detailed Journal entries will give you 5% of what you need for you next level (ie the difference between 5th/6th level not current XP total). One Journal entry per Game.

I'll turn in 3 cards for 1200exps that should give me "roughly" 4000exps which would put me 898 short of a level, close enough for a "gimme".

Everyone made roughly 2800 XP's for the last game. I'll post final XP's later this week. That'll give you time to figure out if you want to turn in cards or not. Or do something for bonus XP's. John is the only one that made a level at this point.

I want to turn in my two cards...I need 108 xp to get to the 1000xp threshold....

Did I get the 10% of a level bonus for cards?

Ok some house rules:
If you are less then 1000 XP away from your next level at the beginning of a session, then you may advance yourself to the next level. Just your level, not your XP. So if you have 5100 XP's and need 6000 for next level, you just adjust yourself for the next level, but you still have 5100 XP's.
Cards are worth 5% towards what you need for your next level

Ok, I seem to have left my DMG and notes for the game at the office. But looking at the posted XP's and going over what happened the last two adventures, everyone but Mike and Dave made a level.

XPs? Or are we still mid-adventure?

Ok XP's are updated.

I was actaully just about to post something about the XP's. We should be able to wrap up this adventure and start a new "chapter" the same night. I was going to give XP's out in the middle but thinking about it now, will probably slow the pace of the game. So I'll post the XP's today.

XPs before part III? It seems we have completed a fairly serious chunk of the adventure.

I just want to let everyone know that I'm going to be at Steve's pretty much by 7:30 from now on. So if everyone could get there about the same that would be cool.

Ok, so it turns out it's not a deep cut on his finger, just a long one. The report I finally got was he bled for a total of about 15 minutes, after that it was pretty much done. Only complaint that he has today is that it's hurts a bit.
